Royston Head
A dramatic clifftop walk to the southern tip of Innes, with sweeping ocean views and spring wildflowers.
The Royston Head walk is one of the quieter trails in Innes National Park, leading out across coastal heath to a high, wind-scoured headland at the park's southern edge. The track is gentle for most of its length before climbing to a lookout where the cliffs fall away to the Southern Ocean and the views stretch back along the rugged coastline.
In spring the heath erupts with wildflowers — native orchids, correas and a scatter of coastal daisies — and the headland is a fine spot to watch for raptors riding the updrafts. It is exposed, so take a hat, water and a windproof layer even on a calm day.
Less trodden than Cape Spencer or West Cape, Royston Head rewards walkers who want the park's big-sky drama without the crowds.
