The Gap

Cliff-framed surf beach deep in Innes National Park.

A dramatic cliff-backed surf beach in Innes National Park, reached by a steep walk down from the lookout.

The Gap is a spectacular surf beach hidden at the base of towering cliffs in Innes National Park, named for the cleft in the headland that frames it. A steep timber stairway leads from the clifftop car park down to the sand, where powerful waves draw confident surfers and bodyboarders. Even from the lookout above, the turquoise water and golden cliffs make it one of the park's most photographed spots.
