Wallaroo
Port town on the Copper Coast

Wallaroo

A working port and Copper Coast town with a long sandy beach and busy marina.

Wallaroo is a port town on the north-western coast of Yorke Peninsula and one of the three Copper Coast towns. Its deep-water harbour shipped smelted copper in the 19th century and still handles grain exports today. The town centres on a wide swimming beach, a marina, and the ferry link to Lucky Bay across Spencer Gulf. The Heritage and Nautical Museum, housed in the old post office, tells the story of Wallaroo's mining and maritime past.
