Port Hughes
A relaxed Copper Coast holiday town with a long jetty, sheltered beaches and the cliff-top golf links at The Dunes.
Just south of Moonta Bay, Port Hughes is a low-key holiday town that has long drawn families for the summer. Its jetty is one of the best on the Copper Coast for squid and whiting, and the sheltered beaches make for easy swimming and crabbing on a low tide.
The town is also home to The Dunes, a links-style golf course laid out along the coast where the fairways run between sandhills with the gulf glittering beyond. It has helped put Port Hughes on the map for golfers as well as anglers.
With Moonta's Cornish heritage minutes inland and the calm waters of Spencer Gulf at the doorstep, Port Hughes makes a comfortable base for combining beach days with the history of Little Cornwall.
