Wallaroo Lighthouse

Wallaroo Lighthouse

A photogenic green-and-white striped lighthouse guarding the entrance to Wallaroo's historic port.

The Wallaroo Lighthouse stands at the entrance to the town's harbour, a slender tower in distinctive bands that has guided grain ships and copper freighters into port for generations. Set on the breakwater near the marina, it is one of the most photographed landmarks on the Copper Coast.

The walk out along the foreshore to the light gives sweeping views across Spencer Gulf, and the surrounding port precinct — marina, old wharves and the towering Viterra grain silos — tells the story of a working harbour that has reinvented itself many times. Sunset here, with the light catching the tower, is a local ritual.

It is a short, rewarding stop that pairs naturally with a wander along Wallaroo's jetty and foreshore.
