Wool Bay Jetty

A heritage jetty and old lime kiln on the southern east coast, a quiet spot for fishing, snorkelling and watching the sun rise over the gulf.

Wool Bay is a tiny settlement on the southern east coast of the peninsula, between Coobowie and Port Giles, and its jetty is a heritage landmark. Built to ship lime and grain, the jetty now serves anglers and snorkellers, with clear gulf water and a reef that draws fish and divers.

Above the beach stands a beautifully preserved lime kiln, a reminder of the small coastal industries that once dotted this shore. The combination of jetty, kiln and quiet beach gives Wool Bay an unhurried, time-capsule feel.

It is a peaceful detour off the main road, popular for an early-morning fish or a swim away from the crowds, with the larger towns of Edithburgh and Yorketown only a short drive away.
