Troubridge Island
Penguin and seabird island with a historic lighthouse.
A low sandy island off Edithburgh, home to little penguins, nesting seabirds and a heritage lighthouse and cottages.
Troubridge Island lies a few kilometres off Edithburgh, a low sand cay crowned by a cast-iron lighthouse built in 1856. It is a conservation park alive with little penguins, crested terns, cormorants and other seabirds, and visitors can stay overnight in the restored lighthouse-keeper's cottages reached by a guided boat transfer. The island offers a rare chance to share a tiny offshore world with its abundant birdlife.
