Shell Beach (Innes)

Shell Beach (Innes)

A crescent of crushed shell on the park coast.

A short walk leads to this pretty crescent beach made of fine crushed shell within Innes National Park.

Reached by a short walking track from the road through Innes National Park, this Shell Beach is a small crescent of fine, pale sand and crushed shell that squeaks underfoot. It is a gentler counterpoint to the wild surf beaches further south in the park.

The beach faces into a protected pocket of coast, so the water is usually calmer here than at the exposed breaks nearby. It makes a pleasant spot for a swim, a picnic or simply a wander while you work your way around the park's loop road.

As with everywhere in Innes, take your rubbish with you and stick to the marked tracks to protect the fragile dune vegetation.
