Kadina Farm Shed Museum

A sprawling community museum in Kadina celebrating Copper Coast farming and Cornish mining life, with the historic Matta House alongside.

On the edge of Kadina, the Farm Shed Museum gathers together the agricultural and mining story of the Copper Coast under one roof. Vintage tractors, harvesters and blacksmith tools fill the sheds, while displays trace how Cornish miners and the farmers who followed them shaped this corner of the peninsula.

Next door stands Matta House, a stone homestead built for a mine manager in the 1860s and furnished as it would have been in the colonial era. Together the two sites give a vivid picture of life in 'Little Cornwall' during the copper boom.

The museum is run largely by volunteers and is a cornerstone of the Kernewek Lowender Cornish festival, with demonstrations and heritage activities during the biennial celebration. It is an easy, family-friendly stop that anchors any Copper Coast heritage day.
