Cape Spencer Lighthouse

Clifftop light guarding Investigator Strait.

A modern lighthouse on dramatic cliffs at the south-west tip of the peninsula, with sweeping views to Kangaroo Island.

Cape Spencer marks the wild south-western tip of Yorke Peninsula, where the waters of Investigator Strait, Spencer Gulf and the Southern Ocean meet. The squat modern lighthouse sits atop sheer limestone cliffs, reached by a short boardwalk that opens to panoramic views of West Cape, Althorpe Island and, on a clear day, Kangaroo Island. It is a prime spot for watching dolphins, seabirds and migrating whales.
