Where to stay on the Yorke Peninsula

From clifftop farm pods to behind-the-dunes campgrounds and a lighthouse island, here is where to bed down across the foot of the peninsula.

The bottom of the Yorke Peninsula is wild, windswept and built for slow holidays. Most of the best places to stay sit close to the water - tucked behind dunes, perched on clifftops or strung along quiet jetty beaches - and many double as a launch pad for surfing, shore fishing and walks into Innes National Park.

Camping and the great outdoors

If you like waking up near the swell, the west coast and Innes National Park are hard to beat. Expect a mix of family-run farm camping, low-key reserves and the peninsula's biggest behind-the-dunes campground, all within easy reach of beaches and surf breaks.

Something a little different

Not every stay is a tent. Clifftop pods give you the camping setting with a bit more comfort, jetty-side holiday villages suit families after safe swimming, and a heritage lighthouse island off Edithburgh offers one of the most memorable nights on the whole peninsula. Wherever you choose, pack for changeable coastal weather and book ahead in the warmer months.
