The Best Surf Breaks on the Yorke Peninsula

Where the Southern Ocean swell lines up

The Yorke Peninsula keeps a low profile in the surf world, and locals like it that way. But the exposed western and southern coasts — much of it inside Innes National Park — catch raw Southern Ocean swell that produces some of the best and least crowded waves in South Australia. Most break over reef in remote country, so come prepared and respect the conditions.

Here are the breaks and beaches worth the long unsealed drive.
