Swincer Rocks

A west-coast reef break south of Point Turton.

A remote reef break and fishing spot on the west coast, prized by experienced surfers for its quality wave.

Swincer Rocks is one of the west coast's quieter surf spots, a reef break that holds a clean wave when the swell and wind line up. It sits along the stretch of exposed coast south of Point Turton, where the Yorke Peninsula turns its shoulder to the open gulf.

The break works best for experienced surfers comfortable reading a reef and a remote setup, with no patrol and no easy bail-out. When the surf is flat the rocks make a productive fishing platform, with reef species and the seasonal salmon run drawing anglers.

The approach is via unsealed roads and the coast is rugged, so come prepared and check conditions before you paddle out.
