Banking and Currency Museum

A quirky Kadina museum in a former bank, crammed with coins, notes and the curiosities of money.

Set in a handsome former bank building in central Kadina, the Banking and Currency Museum is one of the Copper Coast's more unexpected attractions — a private collection devoted to the history of money. Inside you'll find coins and banknotes from around the world, an original bank-teller's setup, a strong room and a wealth of oddities for anyone curious about currency.

The building itself is part of the appeal, a small example of the solid stone architecture that the copper money built. Knowledgeable volunteers bring the collection to life, and there is a gift shop with novelty coins and notes.

It is a charming, slightly eccentric half-hour stop that fits neatly into a day of Kadina heritage wandering.
