A Jetty-Hopping Weekend on the East Coast

Crabs, squid and sunsets down the gulf side

2 days Families and easygoing anglers 6 stops

The plan

The sheltered east coast of the Yorke Peninsula is jetty country, a string of gentle gulf-side towns made for crab nets, squid jigs and unhurried afternoons. This two-day loop strings the best of them together at a relaxed pace.

Day one works south from Port Vincent through Stansbury to Coobowie, the heart of blue-swimmer crabbing country. Day two reaches Edithburgh and Sultana Point before turning for home, with plenty of time to swim, fish and watch the sun set over the water.
