The jetty at Point Turton is a reliable spot for squid, whiting and a sunset over Hardwicke Bay.
The jetty at Point Turton juts out into the gentle curve of Hardwicke Bay on the peninsula's south-west coast. It is a favourite among local anglers, who rate it for squid through the warmer months and for King George whiting and tommy ruff over the seagrass beds.
Because it faces west, the jetty is also one of the better places on this coast to watch the sun drop into the gulf. The township behind it is a relaxed holiday spot with a caravan park and a tavern up on the hill, making the jetty an easy evening stroll.
Like all the peninsula's jetties it is an unhurried place, as good for a wander as for a fish.
